This course is the first of three installments of Andrew’s famous Catechism in the Café series.

In this beautiful course, given by Andrew in a Sydney Café, he takes us through each article of the Creed, as presented in the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Here you will find one of the clearest presentations of what the Catholic Church believes and teaches. The course begins by looking at our natural yearning for God and the ultimate end of our existence. Andrew then follows the Compendium by looking at how God has made a revelation to us and how we can know it, followed by a step-by-step look at what he has revealed. This course is indeed a most enjoyable experience!

Product Description

In this seventeen lecture series Andrew Wood takes you through the first part of the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church on the Creed. This series was given as a live introductory course on the Catholic faith to beginners and those preparing for Baptism. In this short and concise introduction Andrew guides you through the fundamentals of what the Catholic Church actually teaches following the order found in the Compendium. The course begins by looking at the human capacity for God and God’s action in human history through divine Revelation. After this you will hear how the Church understands and interprets this divine Revelation through Scripture, Tradition and the teaching office of the Church’s Magisterium. You will learn what the Church teaches about the Trinity, Creation, Divine Providence, and the nature of sin and evil. A highlight of this series is the presentation on Jesus Christ and his redemptive activity. In the lecture on Christ’s resurrection Andrew beautifully provides some of Pope Benedict XVI’s brilliant insights on this Easter event. Andrew explores the Church’s teaching on the nature of the Church and how Jesus continues his redemptive activity through the Church and draws the series to a close with a brief exposition of the four last things: Death, Judgment, Heaven and Hell.

This series is a must for anyone wanting to understand the fundamentals of the Catholic Faith.
